My Attic Roof Is Wet

My attic roof is wet.

Condensation will arise as a result of warm moist air penetrating up through the ceiling. Though attics are typically hot and dry a leaky roof or pipe condensation or severe weather can cause water to enter your attic. Often this is first noticed when re shingling. This will result in condensed water vapor freezing onto cold attic materials which will eventually thaw creating wet attic materials resulting in damage in the attic and inside the home.

The best solution for controlling moisture is at its source. These can include installation of seamless gutters and downspouts. If the problem is the result of water or moisture penetrating the foundation or floor slab there are many remedial actions which may help. Adequately ventilated attic but this won t matter if the bathroom exhaust fan dumps warm moist air directly into the attic space.
